Back to it cuz I’m a Tough Chik!

So I had the inner battle today to get my fat butt up off the couch…”You must get up and run a few miles!”  “Just sit here all day!  Those miles will be there tomorrow.”  I have these discussions before my M-W-F 0-dark-30 bootcamp as well, but since I’m paying for the BC, I’m more likely to get moving at such an early hour.  Today the battle waged on for hours until I finally realized my life isn’t going to change unless I change.

Last week, I joined Team Tough Chik.  The link to join was floating around the bloggy world and I thought I’d give it a look.  I’ve been a part of the BRC Women’s Fit Team for years now.  They’re a great bunch of women training together.  I enjoy running with them.  TTC is a lot like that, but they are world wide.  And a portion of their sales goes to Project Athena.  This organization helps women with breast cancer or other medical conditions fulfill their athletic dreams.  Just the motivation I need!

So I was trolling on the Internet today and kept coming back to the TTC FB page.  Reading about the fun things these women were doing outside (while I was sitting on the couch).  They’re out having fun and I’m just reading about it.  So I got up, put on my running clothes, and was out the door before I could even think about where I was going.  I got 4 miles of running in and walked a half mile at the end.  Great followup to yesterday’s fun 4 mile run with some BRC gals.

It’s a start and I’m still streaking (didn’t know there was a term for it).  I’m a little behind for the year (-3), but I know with some Tough Chik motivation, I’ll catch up and get back on track!

I love to hear from friends!
